For this procedure, a small amount of botulinum toxin is injected into the muscle which acts to pull the corners of the mouth down, called the 'Depressor Anguli Oris'. By relaxing and weakening this muscle, it can no longer contract (which would pull the mouth down), with the effect of then pulling the mouth up. The results of this procedure can last around 3 months. If you are considering the above treatment, you must have first had a face-to-face consultation with a practitioner in clinic (alongside our prescriber). This will allow us to see you face-to-face, assess your skin and skin concerns, advise on the treatment options, establish your goals and prescribe the anti-wrinkle treatment, as these are prescription only medications. Your appointment can then be carried out as soon as the next day, depending on delivery*.
