Map My Mole - Skin Lesion Assessment
Service Description
At White Rose Skin Clinic we offer medical-led skin lesion assessment and cryotherapy treatment using the CryoPen O+ device for a range of benign skin lesions including skin tags, seborrhoeic keratoses, cherry angiomas and certain mole lesions. As medical professionals, client safety is central to everything we do. That is why we have introduced the Map My Mole service into clinic to provide an additional layer of reassurance and a safe clinical pathway when assessing moles and skin lesions. Map My Mole is a dermatology review service that allows us to capture highly detailed dermoscopic images of skin lesions and moles using professional dermascope imaging equipment. These images can then be reviewed by a consultant dermatologist, with a formal report provided directly to you. For any mole lesion that is being considered for cryotherapy treatment, our insurance and clinical protocols require confirmation that the lesion is benign before treatment can proceed. This confirmation can either come from your GP or through the Map My Mole dermatology review pathway. For other common benign lesions, such as skin tags, seborrhoeic keratoses and cherry angiomas, dermatology review is not routinely required before CryoPen treatment unless there are any clinical concerns regarding the appearance of the lesion. However, some clients choose to have Map My Mole assessment for additional reassurance prior to removal, particularly if the lesion has changed in appearance or they would like a formal dermatology report. During your appointment, we will assess the lesion, discuss your concerns and take detailed close-up dermoscopic images where appropriate. These images are securely submitted through the Map My Mole pathway for specialist review. This service may be particularly beneficial if you: • are concerned about a mole or skin lesion • have noticed changes in a lesion’s size, colour or appearance • would like reassurance before skin lesion removal • are struggling to access a GP appointment • would like a formal dermatology report • are considering cryotherapy treatment for a mole Reports are received within 48 hours. By combining dermoscopic imaging, dermatology review and medical-led cryotherapy treatment, we are able to offer a safer and more structured approach to skin lesion assessment and benign lesion removal within clinic
